There
are many people who prefer to buy their meats from butcher shops over buying
them online. Clearly, buying meat fresh has several advantages over getting
them frozen. For one, very fresh meats are often more tender and flavorful than
frozen ones, and requires less preparation and seasonings.
While
much of the freshness of meat sold by online stores is preserved through the
right packaging and freezing techniques, the added water content they acquire
from the freezing process can dilute some of their flavor. Likewise, frozen
meat has to be thawed properly, typically requiring 24 hours so that it retains
its original flavor and juices.
However,
buying meat online also offers many advantages. Convenience is, of course, one
of these advantages. Reputable online stores offer a wide selection of meat
products for customers to choose from. More often than not, these stores carry
all sorts of cuts and types of meat. Those who have no time to go to the
butcher shop, and have to inspect the meats themselves will find the
accessibility of online meat products highly convenient.
Additionally,
the frozen meats that you get from online stores will have a longer shelflife.
Fresh meats, including beef, pork, fish, and poultry, will last only around two
days to one week in your refrigerator, while frozen meats can stay fresh from
four months to one year.
